Telecom revenue has been flat for a decade, and whether AI changes that is an empirical question. Three ways to test it yourself: a free dashboard, the full underlying panel, or a report with the analysis done.
Also free: the Chinese AI at telcos tracker, which lists the telcos outside Mainland China that partner with one of China's AI model developers, with a source link for every row.

Interactive dashboard tracking headcount, labor cost, and financial performance across 145 telecom operators. The free tier shows full history and every metric for 25 operators. For the other 47 operators in the 72-operator deep panel, it shows revenue, headcount and capex only.

The full edition adds quarterly labor costs, operating expense, EBIT, EBITDA and D&A for all 72 operators in the deep panel, from 1Q11 to 2Q26. The free tier withholds these for 47 of the 72. The 72-operator deep panel represents over 85% of global telecom employment and revenue (MTN Consulting estimate).

Buy the report, $159genAItelco is a resource site from MTN Consulting on one question: how is telecom adapting to AI? Telecom revenue has been flat since the mid-2010s, and operators now use AI to cut costs in network operations, customer management, and back-office work. We test whether that shows up in operating data, instead of taking corporate optimism on trust.
The news feed, events calendar, and Resources page are free, and every news item links to its source. The Telco Workforce Monitor, a dashboard of headcount, labor cost, and financials for 145 telecom operators, has a free edition. The full edition costs $799 (one-time), and the Networks, AI, and Jobs report costs $159. Analysis runs on the genAItelco Substack.
MTN Consulting, LLC publishes the site. Founded in 2017, it is an independent research and advisory firm covering digital infrastructure: telecom networks, data centers, and AI infrastructure. MTN tracks more than 200 operators of three types: 145 telcos, over 25 hyperscalers, and about 50 carrier-neutral providers. It sells subscription research on all three, with modules on telecom AI, energy, and data center power. It also sells a report library and consulting projects built on its own datasets. Its clients include technology vendors, telcos, investors, regulators, and hyperscalers.

I experiment with AI aggressively and still ask every claim to show me the money.
